#26—The Art of Seeing: The Grail Legend Stages of Seeing

Written in 1993, this article explores the art of seeing as not only ordinary perception, but levels of spiritual perception. Trial thresholds of perception are given as four stages, rleating to the Grail Legend: First is the Fire Initiation of Merlin, second is the Water Initiation of Guenevere, third is the Air Initiation of the Sword of Arthur, and fourth is the Earth Initiation of Parzival's Stone. A synopsis of the Grail Legend is given, followed by tests of levels of revelation, depending on the intent of the quester: 1)those who ask others, don't listen and don't want to know, 2) those who ask others and try to listen, wanting to know but still don't understand, 3) those who ask others, who listen and who understand outwardly and 4) those who ask and see within themselves the answer.
